Allergy UK provides information, advice and support for people with allergy including details of the nearest NHS Allergy clinic. The Seal of Approval, Consumer Award and 'Free From' schemes have been introduced to help consumers to find suitable products for use as part of their allergy management programmme.

The Alzheimer's Society is the leading care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers. It provides information and education, support for carers, and quality day and home care. It funds medical and scientific research and campaigns for improved health and social services and greater public understanding of dementia.

Promoting better understanding, diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for individuals with Cardiac Arrhythmia.

Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders

AMEND offers support for all those affected by this rare genetic disorder. MEN 1 & 2 patients and carers can gain support from speaking to their Tele-Buddies who are patients and carers themselves. Members receive regular newsletters and updates on issues and research pertinent to this condition.

Cardiomyopathy Association

The Cardiomyopathy Association is a medical welfare charity whose aim is to support potential and diagnosed sufferers by providing direct help through helplines, printed, video and CD materials. Additionally, the Association promotes research and raises public and government awareness of the disease.

The DLF aims to enhance opportunities for people with disabilities and older people to lead productive and independent lives. The DLF responds to nearly 30,000 requests for information a year; providing advice on equipment and technological solutions for independent living.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and its complications through research. Founded by the parents of children with diabetes and still led by people living with diabetes, JDRF now funds more diabetes research than any other voluntary organisation in the world.

The National Respiratory Training Centre

The National Respiratory Training Centre is an impartial education and research establishment for health professionals which aims to improve the care of patients who suffer from respiratory or allergic disease. Educational programmes are run nationally and internationally and are accredited by the Open University.

ME Association

The Myalgic Encephalopathy Association is a national registered charity providing information and support to people with ME, their families and carers. The Association also commissions and funds scientific research, to increase understanding of the condition.

Men's Health Forum

Malehealth - www.malehealth.org.uk - fast, free independent health information for men of all ages from the Men's Health Forum. Described
by the Daily Telegraph as 'the most comprehensive source of information about men's health matters on the web', it was recently Highly Commended in the BMA's 2003 Patient Information Awards.

National Association for Patient Participation

The N.A.P.P. supports the introduction and networking of patient participation groups in general practice. Staffed entirely by volunteers, N.A.P.P. is an apolitical charity partly funded by the Department of Health. Enquiries from NHS organisations, GP practices and patients are welcomed.

National Society For Epilepsy

The NSE is the largest medical charity in the field in the UK. It provides information and support to people affected by epilepsy; carries out research into epilepsy; and cares for people with epilepsy through medical, residential and rehabilitation services.

PiXiE

PseudoXanthoma Elasticum is a hereditary skin disease affecting elasticity in the skin, eyes and heart as they become calcified. 60% of PXE sufferers lose central vision but do not go blind. PiXiE provides information and support to sufferers.

STARS

STARS works together with individuals, families and medical professionals to offer support and information on Syncopes and Reflex Anoxic Seizures.

StudentHealth.co.uk is a free health resource aimed specifically at student health matters. Written by NHS GPs based at the University of Sussex it offers over 250 printable advice leaflets on topical and student related issues. There are also links to university health centres and support groups.
